Finally the party planning is over and is only waiting to be executed on the 16th! As you all know, the three of us are going to Cape Cod this weekend for a couple of days. Well, that beach trip for sure will be a lot of fun! We'll get back to New York on the 15th, the eve of Walley's 1st birthday.
On the 16th, we have some special plans for Walley as he turns one year old. In the morning, we'll be taking Walley to Central Park ( yes, for the very first time!). We've been planning to take Walley to Central park for ages and for one reason or another, it just never happened. So, on Walley's birthday, we'll be spending some time in the park, walking around, playing fetch and lazing a bit.
After we get home from the park, Walley will enjoy his birthday cake that we have specially ordered from Buttercup's Paw-tisserie, a doggie bakery that bakes cakes and makes other delicious goodies for dogs. We're getting a yummy peanut butter cake for Walley because he just loves peanut butter! We also have a special gift for Walley that has already arrived home. Walley has no idea about the gift. It's a surprise!! Check out the link below to get a sneak-peak of Walley's gift before he does!! It's a raised wrought-iron mission-style feeder.

In the evening, Walley will be celebrating his 1st birthday with his doggie friends at the New York Dog Hotel and Spa. In case you'll haven't read some of my earlier posts, the New York Dog Hotel and Spa is Walley's "daycare and boarding place" on days when Elwyn and I are out of town. So Walley has, over the past couple of month, made lots of friends at the Hotel and we just thought it would be a fun way for him to celebrate his 1st birthday! We've ordered pup-cakes and other yummy colorful summer treats for the dogs attending Walley's birthday party.
We'll, of course decorate our home and Walley's crate with balloons and other party favors to get into the birthday groove.
In case you are interested, here is the website for Buttercup's Paw-tisserie. Unfortunately, they are closing their store in Brooklyn but luckily we can continue to order online from their website.
