My mother and sister arrive in NY in just a couple hours!!

How exciting!! Both Elwyn and I are seeing my mother and sister after what feels like ages: 4 years to be exact! Walley will be seeing them for the very first time today! My mum (Shobha) and sister (Sushma), who are currently en route to the US all the way from India, are also very excited to meet our adorable darling Walley and of course, us too! I've been telling Walley that we'll be having our first ever family guests staying with us at our home and I am hoping he recognizes my mum and sis from their voices as he's been listening to them talk to him over phone for a year now! We're looking forward to show my mum and sis the spectacular city of New York ( our home) and a few other places like Washington DC and Florida (Disney World) as well during their one month stay in the US. As far as preparations go; there has been a lot going on for a couple weeks now. First, it was the major home spring cleaning! (My mother being very particular about a house looking spic and span!) Today, I cooked 5 North Indian dishes: Dal Makhani, Chicken Cafreal, Peas/Carrots/Rice Pulav, Chicken Makhani and Badam Halwa; all special North Indian delicacies for our special guests' arrival today! Later this morning, Walley will be getting groomed at Unleashed Spa: oatmeal bath, blueberry facial and lots of pampering from Kim and her Spa staff! Yes, our Walley who is already very cute and adorable needs to look his best when my mum and sis see him for the very first time! And by the way, Walley also will be accompanying us in the car to welcome my mum and sis at the airport!! I am currently just tying up some loose ends before I retire to take a nice, relaxing nap. So, let me take leave now and I will get back with more stories from Walley and us in just a short while!

Ciao for now!

Unveiling the cover of Walley's scrapbook!!

I am so excited to unveil the cover of Walley's scrapbook! I just began working on this creative project about two weeks ago. I love the Kate's Paperie store in New York because they have such cute and fun scrapbooking stuff!! I am working on the inside pages of the scrapbook at the moment. I am sure there will be hundreds of pictures of our Walley in this book! It's a lot of work for me now because I had been procrastinating this project since a year and a half! So, I have a lot to catch up on!! I love arts and crafts and it's all about Walley and us- that's what makes this project so much fun!! I want this scrapbook and the future ones ( I know one book will not be sufficient for Walley's pictures) to be able to take us back in time, relive every cherished memory and to remember how lucky we are to be blessed with our adorable Walley!! Well, before further ado let me present to you a few pictures of the cover of Walley's first scrapbook!!

Elwyn's birthday celebration in Martha's Vineyard!!!

The three of us have just returned home from Martha's Vineyard after thoroughly enjoying ourselves!! The vineyard was so relaxing and we just wished we could have stayed out there a little bit longer. We spent Elwyn's birthday weekend at the beachfront Surfside Motel in Oak Bluffs; a quaint little town in Martha's Vineyard. While out there, Elwyn and I enjoyed the amazing seafood especially the lobsters, shrimp and the famous New England Clam Chowder!! Elwyn and I loved walking in the downtown area of Oak Bluffs where we did a little bit of shopping as well! The weather was just perfect during our stay in the Vineyard. Our Walley also had a lot of fun during this trip!! He just loved running and playing in the 70 acre open grass field called "Trade Winds" just for dogs!!! Yeah, that's a lot of running space for our energetic Golden! He also got a chance to play with some of the other dog visitors out there! Walley did a little bit of shopping too in a store called "Good Dog Goods" where he had an unexpected and surprising play date with 'Mulligan', a very handsome and loving Gordon Setter!! When we walked into the store, the saleslady was so sweet to introduce Walley to Mulligan and just let the two of them play together in her backyard! Walley and Mulligan got along really well and played the "Chase" game for a long time! The three of us just loved walking by the pier and gazing at the blue-green Atlantic Ocean. We also spent a short while on the beach shores; the water was so cold so we didn't dare get into it! All in all, we had an immensely relaxing fun birthday weekend in Martha's Vineyard!! It was a short but really sweet trip!! And before I forget, Elwyn's birthday cake was a delicious Strawberry Shortcake baked at "Cakes By Liz" in Martha's Vineyard! I have been told by a few of my readers that some of my older blog posts are a bit too long so I am practicing now to keep my posts as short and precise as possible. However, I have loads of pictures below from our weekend at Martha's Vineyard which I am sure you will all enjoy!! These pictures speak ten thousand words for me! Happy picture-viewing!
