Just as a precautionary measure, I took Walley to his Vet this afternoon so he could be checked up ( especially for his ear that was recently operated) and also to make sure he is ready for the Cape Cod trip with regards to any preventive treatment that he would need.
As usual, Walley was very happy to visit Dr. Tufaro's clinic. He just enjoys the TLC (Tender Loving Care) he gets from everyone at the clinic. Dr. Tufaro was very happy to see that Walley has been doing great since the surgery and Walley was just thrilled to meet his doctor after so many weeks!
Dr. Tufaro did a thorough check up of Walley and said he is a very healthy and great looking Golden Retriever! He said that we've done a good job in raising Walley! I was so thrilled to hear that!! Yay! Dr. Tufaro prescribed a preventive medication against heart worm which Walley will need to take once a month. It's a chewable tablet and Walley took one today at home. He chewed it happily; the tablet must have had a good taste to it! FYI, the routine heart worm blood test that was done at the clinic today showed negative results so that was good to know! Dr. Tufaro gave Walley a Tick/Flea/ Mosquito repellent spray which he absolutely needs during the Cape Cod trip. We'll need to spray some of it on Walley when we get to Cape Cod tomorrow.
Dr. Tufaro is the best Vet I have met till date. He takes such good care of Walley and we feel so blessed to have him as Walley's Vet. Walley absolutely loves him! ( Just in case you didn't know, I have a scrap book for Walley with very memorable pictures of his journey so far!!)
