We arrived at Cape Cod yesterday pretty late at night. It was a longer drive than we had initially anticipated. The traffic was really heavy for the most part. However, Walley was really excited throughout the long drive!! He loved looking out the window and getting some fresh breeze. When he got bored, he played with his monkey-toy and also took brief naps all along the way. We stopped only twice on the road for some food and refreshments. Walley needed a relief break too so it was good we stopped when we did. Walley's harness seat belt proved really useful! I mean, pet safety in a car during a long drive is pretty crucial, I think! The drive was a lot of fun for all three of us; listening to some great country folk music and enjoying the beautiful scenery outside.
We reached the resort at around 11 pm and we were pretty exhausted, except for Walley!! He was so excited to be in a new place. He jumped on the huge, soft bed the first thing we got to the room and picked his favorite spot on it. Then he explored the room in and out! He loved looking at himself in the mirror, thought it was another dog and almost jumped into the mirror too! The room has a beautiful deck and Walley just loves hanging out there!! The deck faces the beautiful Atlantic ocean. So it was really lovely to wake up this morning and see the deep blue water right in front of us- the ocean meeting the sky at some point- so picturesque! The weather is just perfect for a beach weekend!
I will have lots more to blog about later tonight after we take Walley to the beach and the bark-park. For now, I have some pictures to share from yesterday- Walley, all set at home to head out on a fun adventure, the 6-hour drive and a few pictures that we took this morning from the deck of our room. Walley is for sure having a blast so far!! But the best part of the adventure is yet to begin! I am sure Walley can't wait any longer. So I am going to leave you with these pictures to enjoy! More blogging from Cape Cod tomorrow!
