The three of us thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend. First of all, on Friday afternoon, Walley's trip to the Vet was just great! Dr. Tufaro took off Walley's stitches and the E-collar. Yay!! It was a relief for Walley, of course. His ear looks great now. It's healing really well. Second of all, we were really excited to spend more time at home with Walley over the long weekend ahead of us. We just love our family time!! It's just so much fun even if it's just the three of us, snuggling together on our big black couch! Walley now loves the couch more than his bed so he has learned to make himself very comfortable on our couch, occupying half of it and leaving the remaining half for me and Elwyn. How generous!! :-)
Well, the weather was terrible over the weekend with temperatures shooting upto 100 degrees Fahrenheit so we were just relaxing at home most of the weekend. On Saturday, we took Walley to Unleashed Spa for a full-groom which he badly needed!! He hadn't taken a bath for over a month because of his surgery and the sutures etc.. So he absolutely needed a bath and a hair-trim. He enjoys the pampering at the Spa anyway!! Kim, at unleashed Spa was so surprised to see that Walley has grown so big! The last she saw him was in February and Walley has grown quite a bit since then :-) When I went to pick up Walley from the spa, he looked fabulous wearing a "NY Mets" bandana. He had a nice oatmeal bath, relaxing blueberry facial and a neat hair-trim. He was so happy to see me when I walked in. I am sure he wanted to show off how good he looked and smelt. Kim was so sweet that she gave Walley a free "Barkin Apple" flavored ice-cream when we were about to leave. Walley loves Ice Cream and this one was a sure treat for him on a terribly hot day! We walked home and all through the walk, Walley was anxious to eat his ice cream. As soon as we got home, I gave him his cup of ice cream and he relished it till the end!!
Walley got a new toy to play with. We bought him an elephant rope toy with colors of the American Flag: Red, Blue and White. Walley enjoyed playing with it, especially chewing on the rope part of the toy.
On the 4th of July ( Independence day), Elwyn and I did a 3-hour cruise over the Hudson river to watch the Macy's Fireworks. Too bad they don't allow dogs on the ship cause Walley would have really loved it! Well, maybe not the fireworks part :-) After we came home, we were very tired but we were so excited to see Walley. There was a special treat waiting for us in the fridge. It was a "Strawberry Torte Cake" for late night dessert. And it was yum!! But the one who enjoyed it the most was: Walley. Any doubts??
I have posted some pictures from our relaxing, fun weekend. Enjoy!
