Oh, we were so excited for the 4 day holiday weekend. It was a much awaited break for me, Elwyn and Walley of course. We didn't wake up till 9 am that morning. After all, that's what holidays are about: relaxing! We woke up and had our usual breakfast tea. This thanksgiving, we said a special prayer to our dear Lord for the precious gift he has given us: Walley! Then we watched the Macy's thanksgiving parade on television for a little while which began promptly at 9 am. After lazing around for a while, we got ready to walk towards 34th street( Macy's) to watch the latter half of the parade. It was a nice walk as the weather was beautiful! It was sunny and the temperature was in the late sixties. Gorgeous! Walley enjoyed his walk as much as we did. After the magnificent parade ended, we walked back home. We stopped at a grocery store on the way back as the 3 of us were thirsty, especially Walley. It was the first time we walked walley for such a long distance. It was approximately 28 blocks back and forth. After the 3 of us refreshed ourselves, we headed towards home. It was such a beautiful day to take pictures so when we reached home, we took a few pictures in our picturesque neighborhood:-)
It was time for brunch by the time we got home. I made sumptuous Egg Nog French Toast topped with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. Why am I saying it was sumptuous? Because Elwyn and Walley said so:-) How did Walley tell me? By gobbling away two pieces of the toast specially prepared for him!
Elwyn and I enjoyed our thanksgiving brunch. We felt like we were stuffed already and the best was yet to come! After brunch and before we began fixing thanksgiving dinner, we phoned both our families to speak to them and wish them on this special day! And then lazily we got up from our couch to start preparing the special thanksgiving dinner. Elwyn and I fixed Caneton a l'Orange (a French delicacy of Roast Duck with Orange Sauce). It was so much fun cooking while Walley cozily watched Holiday movies and napped:-) For Dessert, I made mini Oreo cheese cakes(cup cakes). I can't thank Allison (my friend and colleague) for sharing the recipe for this delicious dessert with me. Everything we cooked that day was so Yum, Yum, Yum!
Here are a few pictures of our thanksgiving delicacies:
One can only imagine how stuffed we must have been after eating all that food. Well, not all of it; but most of it:-) We couldn't give any of our dinner delicacies to Walley as it is not recommended for him so we decided to give him an extra spoonful of love:-) Below are few pictures of Elwyn and Walley cozily laying on the couch at the end of the thanksgiving day. These are the two awesome boys in my life and I can't live without them!
We are enjoying the autumn in New York this year. And our neighborhood makes the season look even better. Here are few pictures we took in our neighborhood two weeks ago:
This time, we designed a beautiful thanksgiving card for our friends and family.

This thanksgiving we are eternally thankful to God for blessing us with Walley who has brought so much joy in our lives. The countdown for Christmas has begun: 23 days to go!
Have a Blessed weekend!
