Yes!! I've been blogging on this website (www.walleyandus.blogspot.com) for exactly a year now!! I launched this website on September 19, 2009 and it's been a year-long journey since then!! It has been an amazing journey for me as the author of this blog and I hope to keep writing on this blog for my followers and readers. Last year this time, if you recap through my archived posts, Elwyn and I were preparing our home for the little munchkin- Walley!! We were so excited about bringing home our first Golden Retriever puppy!! And today, a year from then, we are so delighted to have Walley in our lives!! He has undoubtedly changed our lives for the better!!! Walley is the sole inspiration of my blog. Without him, I would have never become a blogger!
There were so many instances in the past year when I thought about giving up on blogging. There were some rough patches in the past year when Walley was ill, that I wondered if I could write in so much distress! I am so glad I never gave up then!! Although Walley having that episode of seizure in January and him having to undergo an ear-surgery for Aural hematoma in June were the hardest events for me to write about; I felt later that by writing those posts, I've actually evolved into a much better writer!! Writing about funny and pleasing events was always easy and exciting for me but writing about personal hardships and struggles was never easy because it demanded having the courage to feel the pain or sadness all over again as I wrote about them. However, after I finished writing about those challenging situations, I always felt a sense of comfort inside me because as hard as it was to write about those difficult times, it also proved to be the best way of releasing the disturbing or painful emotions associated with them. As someone rightly said, writers often write to vent their feelings, happy or sad!!
Well, I didn't give up on writing then and I will certainly not give up now!! We celebrated the "one year anniversary" of this blog with a 'Pralines n Cream' ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins. The three of us thoroughly enjoyed the yummy cake!! Here are some pictures of Walley and us, cherishing the special moment as we complete one year of this blog!! You can see Walley's excitement on seeing the "yum" cake and his anxiousness to taste it!!!
Thank you all for reading my blog so far and I hope you will continue to read my posts in the future too! Cheers!!!
