The Author's 27th Birthday was a truly memorable one!!

On Thursday, I celebrated my 27th birthday with my two most favorite loved ones- Elwyn and Walley!! Elwyn really made me feel like a princess on my birthday. I spent half a day at the Spa as Elwyn got me a gift card to the "Allure Day Spa" in New York. I have to confess it was the most relaxing thing I've experienced in a very long time. It was really stress-relieving and refreshing!! In the evening, I cut my birthday cake which was "Cipriani's Lemon Meringue cake" that just melted in the mouth. Walley also enjoyed eating it. He just gobbled his share of cake!! I loved the way Elwyn decorated our home with Disney Princess balloons and other party favors. He also made me wear a "Birthday Princess" tierra that I totally loved!! Elwyn got me some delicious chocolate-covered strawberries from Edible arrangements. The strawberries were simply mouth-watering!! We are actually enjoying them as I type right now:-) Walley loves strawberries but we were wondering how to give him chocolate-covered strawberries as chocolate is dangerous for him. But I quickly figured out a way. We took off the chocolate coating and gave him only the strawberries. Walley, of course, savored them!!

So going back to Thursday, after cutting my birthday cake and celebrating my birthday at home with our munchkin Walley, Elwyn took me to an amazing restaurant in New York for dinner. It's called "Le Caprice" and is located at the Taj Pierre Hotel. I totally recommend it to New Yorkers and New York visitors. The cuisine was European-fusion and we loved it! The appetizers and entreès were sumptuous, the wine pairing was perfect and the ambience was commendable!! The "Raspberry Zabaione" for dessert was so yum!

Apart from the lovely birthday celebration that Elwyn and Walley had in store for me, I also had a wonderful time talking to family and friends who called me from different parts of the world to wish me on my birthday!! I got several e-mails and messages from friends and relatives. I truly enjoyed every moment of my birthday! As I pondered over my life from childhood growing into adulthood, I realized on my 27th birthday that I actually like growing a year older because I know that I am also growing a year wiser!! I don't really mind the physical growth and the aging process but what I really care about is the spiritual growth, to be a better human being; a better soul- to serve better in this one life that has been gifted to me by God above. For me, that is the true essence of birthdays!! 

The best part of my birthday this year was being able to celebrate it with my hubby, Elwyn and my munchkin doggie, Walley- my two best buddies in the whole world!
